Ground Supersite

A key component of the ACROSS measurement strategy is a highly instrumented ground-based site. Based on analyses of historical data in the Paris region, we have determined that a location southwest of Paris has the highest probability of being impacted by the urban plume under conditions of high photochemical activity.

A site has been selected in the Rambouillet Forest and an agreement to use the site and the co-located tower has been reached with the Office National des Forêts. The site is located about 50 km from central Paris in the western part of the forest. It is rather remote and surrounded by mixed deciduous and evergreen trees.
